She Finished It!

For many, many months now, my mom has been reading this gigantical book named War and Peace. She thought since she was cooped up on an island all this time that this was the perfect challenge. My dad teased her and prodded her to quit the whole time but she did not give up and she read the whole thing, all 1215 pages. She is feeling quite proud and relieved to be done, ready to finally attack her stack of smaller, more modern novels. In case you are interested, she likes the peace more than the war.

I don't believe she finished, Gus. No one ever has.

Congratulations, darling daughter. What a feat....but might you actually miss spending time with your 'old friend'?

Dear Gus,

I believe her because once as a much younger woman, I achieved the same amazing feat! Your father couldn't have known there was one other person in the world who finished it, as he was only a child...You will someday follow in your parents literary footsteps and bring new meaning to "peace" in the world and we will all be grateful for it.
Love to you, your mom and dad in your new digs! When can we come visit?

Love,
Aunt Pam, Uncle Nap, Tessa, Leana and Mariah
