The White Stuff

This is what I came home to today. Snow! Lots and lots of powdery perfect snow.

That's our backyard under there!

Isn't beautiful?

Mystical?

Magical?
All of the above, I say. My mom and dad walked at night in the snow to have a snowy nightcap at the Whiskey Bar. It snows just enough in this town to make things exciting but not a bummer.

It could snow every day and personally I would never get bummed out. I will throw snowballs at things until my arm falls off.

Merry Christmas One and All!

Well, I have been living it up on a very long Christmas holiday and in fact I'm still living it, I'm not even home yet still. I've been on road trips, ferry trips, cab rides, plane trips, across three different states. I've seen all four grandparents and many different cousins and even some new very important friends. I will tell you all about it. Hope you all had a really super great holiday with friends and family and hope you got some totally awesome toys like I did!

Books Make Your Life Better

Look at the bookshelves Bobby built in my old room! This is where my little baby crib used to be, remember that? Now its books from the ceiling to the floor. It looks wonderful. This house my old house is always being improved and that is because this man my Grandpa never rests.

Turkey Trot

On my Thanksgiving holiday back to Bainbridge I got to see my old island pals, the Rodriguez clan.

We went to the Grand Forest, our old hiking ground, and walked off some of that turkey and pie (not all of it though). We found fishing poles (big sticks) and went fishing in the river or fish (big leaves). Himal and I could have done that all day.

I'm realizing lately that I have a lot of friends all over the country that I manage to keep in my life with little visits and stuff. I am thanksgiving for this.

Everyone else out there should try to keep up the visiting of us out here too, so our circle of friends stays wide and stays tight.

Canoodle on the Space Noodle

Poppy. This is Poppy. I'm trying to think of a way to describe her to you, describe the way she makes me feel and how much I like her but I can't find the right words or the right way to say them. She is this girl, this really great girl that I can really talk to about everything and she's really pretty in a girl way but then, get this, she wrestles, like a boy, better than a boy. She's a better wrestler than Stuart, I am not even kidding you.

It was her birthday, she turned 6, and we went to the movies and then to dinner at the top of the Space Noodle. The restaurant is so so high up in the sky and it revolves around slowly so you see the whole city of Seattle while you are eating.

And this is what you are eating--ice cream with chocolate and caramel sauce sitting on a bowl of billowing smoke. Like your dessert is on fire, but there is actually no fire!

Now I know what people are talking about when they say they are on top of the world.

When we left the restaurant, we were walking out, Poppy and I, and I, kind of casually but real heartfelt, just took my arm and put in around her waist, and do you know what she did? She put her arm around me and we walked for a really long time, the whole way out, with our little arms around each other. I was so happy! You should have seen my face. My mom said I was truly beaming, with pride and with joy.
