Story Time

Guess who knows how to read now? Me, Gus. The books I can read to people, if they want me to, are Hop On Pop, Dick and Jane, and Go Dog Go. There are probably others I can read to if I try really hard and don't give up. It sure is a fun switcharoo to read a book to all the people that usually read one to me.

PGF

Spending an evening at Portland Garment Factory, our friend Britt's business where she takes people's ideas and turns them into clothes and clothing lines.

Monte and Britt are some of our best Portland friends and we try to worm ourselves into their busy lives whenever possible.

This is their daughter Piper asleep in a garment basket. She is used to this type of thing.

So if you have a drawing of something you've always wanted to wear or if you dreamt about a purse that can turn into a pancho, you may want to google the PGF and see you dreams turn into real life.

Freeze Dance

Spent a long fun day at Lisa's house with Emily and Greta and this kid named Ben. Ben is a slick dancer. He showed me some of his moves. I showed him some of mine. Then we had a freeze dance contest. I lost, but narrowly. He's 8, I'm only 5. By the time I'm 8 my moves are going to be so frozen you'll think I'm just a statue of a really good dancer.

Crazy Hair Day

It is spirit week at school and every day everyone in the whole school does the same thing, like on hat day everyone wears a hat and most kids just wore their boring old baseball caps but I wore my Korean mega sun visor that Uncle Mike got me and I was the toast of the hallways. And on pajama day and I wore my power ranger pjs and was the envy of the boys in class. And on crazy hair day mom spiked my hair up every which way with goop and spray and it was a giant hit. I got a little nervous walking to school, worried and wondering what I had done to myself, but then a seventh grader yelled at me, "hey kid, your hair is the craziest!" and then I felt really good. If any of you out there work at a job in an office or something, you can make any week a spirit week and do this crazy stuff too.

Back To School

Spring Break is over, back to my classroom and my school with all my friends and all the learning.

By the way, I am getting really smart from all the learning. I can count past 100, I can speak (some) German and Spanish, I can spell and I can read (Hop on Pop and Dick and Jane). Math is my favorite.

This is Drea, one of my little buddies from my class, the littlest in fact. Did you know I am 5 inches taller than the next tallest kid in my class? Some of the shorter parents joke that I am getting to be as tall as them and could I please please slow down and stop growing. I would if I could, but I can't. Portland Trailblazers here I come!

Alley Cats

Another spring break fun time family activity = the bowling alley.

There should be an extra point column for style.

My first ball = STRIKE!

Mom and Dad didn't get a strike until the very end of the game. They were not great at hiding their frustration.

I took an early, easy lead.

After the game, which (they tell me) I won, I played all the video games and shark whacking games.

I touched every thing in that bowling alley and by 6pm that evening I had a sore throat and a fever. Dirty play baby!
