Napoleses

I miss all my family very much already. These people are great people: Nana, Papa, Aunt Marisa, Uncle Ed, Aunt Cari, Uncle Brad, cousins Kimberly and Patrick and the baby Ondine. Why should they live far from me? Who makes that happen?

the games people play

We packed the days of our vacation with tons of fun and games and sports. Everyone played tennis and I sat on the side screaming yay mama and yay daddy and drank all the gatorade which was full of sugar that I never drank before. We swam in the big giant pool and I wore water wings and jumped around and swam with my arms and legs. My aunts and uncles and cousins played games like dominos and Life. But Thanksgiving time is mostly all about football and I have to say I am hooked. I played with uncle Ed and my cousins every day and woke up saying football! football! We played monkey in the middle and I was always in the middle so I used the only defensive play I know -- getting totally nude to distract the quarterback.

WaterWorld

So it was so sunny and warm at the desert Thanksgiving that we got to go water frolicking. I got soaked and I loved it! The fountains come up out of nowhere and I stood right on one and Mama yelled watch out Gus! move Gus! but I didn't understand until the fountain came up right under me and blew water all up my body and into my face. And there was a water gun that you could spray people with and feel all powerful. How neat and how crazy to have summer in the winter!

Thanksgiving in the desert

I'm back from our Thanksgiving trip and wowee did I have fun. One word: COUSINS. What a great great invention. My cousins Kimberly and Patrick drove all the way from Austin, Texas to spend time with us and they were so ready to play with me. My parents couldn't believe how much fun we all had and how little they saw of me. I slept in the same room as K and P so they were the first things I saw in the morning. And we ate together on our bar stools and I did everything like the big kids do. And we played and played and played and played. It was super nice to have everyone together. Family, they will be with you forever.

the gobble gobble is coming

We are leaving for our Thanksgiving trip to the desert of Palm Springs to my Nana and Papa's house (there are 4 grandparents all together) to eat a turkey and have a real fun visit with all Mama's sisters and all my cousins. My parents have had me practicing all my best moves and jokes so I can really wow everyone with my winning personality. I've got a bunch of new zingers: the growling lion, the fake stomach ache, the "mmm...okay" (where I cock my head and shrug my shoulders and say "mmm...okay" like I don't really care one way or the other) and The Juan (where I put my hands in the air and yell "Juan!" ever since we had a guy named Juan over for dinner). Its 85 degrees there in California which does not seem right at all for Thanksgiving celebrating but we get to go swimming which we don't do here because its 50 degrees like its supposed to be in November.

(These pictures here are of the house in Poulsbo which is getting finally finished. When we come back there will be hardwood floors in and then its just a few things to do after that. I'll show you the final pictures soon in case any of you want to buy it.)

Hit The Lights

There are many advantages to being 3 feet tall. I can reach just about everything important now, including full bowls of cereal with milk and sharp knives from the counter. I can also turn the lights off in the room my family is in while they are in it which makes them feel very frustrated and makes me feel drunk with power. So you know what I got to say to that...

Toothless in Seattle

My daddy had a bad tooth that made his cheek get puffy like Chippy the Chipmunk. Everyone made fun of him and then the next day his whole face was swollen and hurt so Mama called the deWitt family dentist even though dad said no no no, please no. He told the dentist he was Grandpoop's son and the dentist said "Your dad is a wuss." He said he sees a lot of wusses cuz he's got little kids all day, but he's never seen as big a baby as my Grandpoop. So then the dentist pulled my dad's tooth right out of his mouth and my dad said "owee" and "I think I need something for the pain, doc." The dentist asked if he'd ever heard of Vicodin and my dad said he wasn't sure if he had but he was willing to try it. The pills are LONG gone but his face is back to normal. Yay for the Dr.Dentist Feelgood.

Teddy who?

No, Teddy has not been replaced. Moose is just another one of my companions. There's plenty Gus to go around. I have different pals for different things. Moose is good for trips in the car cuz he's tall enough to see out the window. I make sure he's facing out and I keep checking his eyes with my eyes to see that he's seeing. Teddy 1 and Teddy 2 are my nighttime buddies. They sleep with me. I go to bed quite easily these days thanks to those dudes. I see them in my crib and I just want to get in. I grab one with each arm, lay on top of them, and talk quietly to them until we all fall asleep.

Breakout

The rain stopped for a few hours and Mama and I went out to get a breath of fresh air. We walked through my trail where there are special neat things for you to look at like gigantic leaves and a mystical glass ball and crazy rain mushrooms that we think may be poison filled. Our power's gone out a few times already but don't worry cuz we have a generator and there is some flooding nearby but don't worry because we have a boat and a canoe and lots of cookies.

the furry red devil

The day has finally come. I am in LOVE with Elmo. What started as an innocent curiousity has snowballed into a fevered obsession. I wake up asking for Elmo. I go to sleep asking for Elmo. My parents only let me watch him once a day even though I ask 35 times a day. This isn't so easy for them when its storming so hard we can't play outside and they've run out of things to entertain me in the house. But they have a certain fear and this is why...

This is my regular face:

And this is my face on Elmo:

Crusty Bunker Hill

This is my super cool fort that Mama built for me. We are in the middle of five days of very wet rain so we are finding new ways to play inside. I love it in my fort. Its private. No one bugs me. I can bring all my toys inside. Mama and I hung out in there all afternoon and listened to records. And I invited Daddy inside when he got home from work and he was pretty excited to join our club. We're gonna need a bigger fort.

Homo the Clown

It was Halloween #2 for me. I was a clown, as you can see. I wore my costume around town all day and to the daycare at the gym. All the other little boys were big tough animals like elephants and lions. I guess they need to prove something. I think it takes a bigger toddler to pull off a see through clown suit with pom poms. We put out the jack-o-lanterns that Grandpoop and I carved (he held the knife) so all the trick or treaters in the neighborhood would come to us. We only had one group of kids come to the door so maybe our pumpkins were TOO scary. Mamam bought four giant bags of Halloween candy a few days ago and there were about five candy bars left by Halloween afternoon. Never underestimate the sweet tooth of a deWitt.

Hope you all had a very spooktacular night! (Boo!)
