I M Gus

Sunday we had a really nice day outside the Louvre museum where this giant glass pyramid stands.

We had lunch at the Louvre restaurant where I had a Louvre burger and once again the french birdies ate crumbs out of my hands.

This is Krystyne, the wife of the owner of my dad's Canadian publishing house. She treated us to this most amazing day.

This is one of many incredible Paris bridges over the river Seine. This one has lovers locks on it, so you lock your lock on here with the one you love and then you come back and visit your lock of love years from now to see what has lasted, the lock or your love? Or both if you are lucky.

This turned out to only be the beginning of the day she treated us to...

Perfect Park Pictures

What a day!

The sun is shining and backyard is blossoming.

Where's Gus?

Il est la`!

I met some fellow American kids in the park today. Mom heard them speaking American and coaxed me to go over and say hey. I hovered around them for 30 minutes until I finally spoke to them.

Then they became quite attached to me! They are from New York City, living here now, like me.

Having fun in the city but these beautiful tulips do actually remind us of our fair Portland. Hope they are blossoming there too!

Dance and Play

Hit the park Easter afternoon for some serious play. Football (American), Football (soccer), and some badminton.

Philippe lived his early life in North Carolina so his American football genes rose up out of him once he got the ole pigskin in his hands. Football's called the Ole Pigskin.
.

Elena the DJ and MC.

Here she comes...the star of the show:

Rosa's Super Ballet!

No one could deny the superbness of her moves and stage presence.

She found the key to true happiness, I believe. Through la danse.

And after the show all the ladies and babies had an impromptu dance party of their own. Good times!

Easter Bunny Paque Paque

Easter Egg hunt in Paris! Just like in the states, only one of the girls didn't speak english.

I found a huge cup load of chocolate eggs.

This was in our new friend's yard, Simon and Marie and their daughters Sasha and Elena.

Cannot TELL you how good it was to play with some kids!!! Mom and Dad are cool and all, but geez a guy could go bananas with ten straight days on adult-only time.

This is Emma, our new best friend, and the darling always-smiling new baby of hers. Elle s'appelle Nina.

And this is Philippe and Simon. Great guys. Translators from French to English and vice versa. Philippe and Emma just finished translating the Sisters Brothers into french. We really trust them!

Nous Sommes Ici !!!

Translation for Americans: We are here!!!

This is the view from our window: a giant beautiful park. This is my backyard, guys! Je suis sérieux!

Paris is amazing. I know you've heard that before, and everyone told me, but now I know for my own self. Everything looks completely different from the way things look in the U.S.of A. Older, bigger, more like a movie about somewhere else.

This is the Eiffel Tower, the one and only Eiffel Tower. We took the Metro and the REC over to it yesterday, because I've been obsessed with this thing for months. It is taller than I imagined and darker, browner steel. But just as cool as I was hoping.

This is what it looks like on the inside. Eiffel guts.

There is a carousel at the bottom of it, really old and beautiful, like everything in this city.

Cafe lifestyle is the term for the life we are now living. (This is the cafe at the bottom of our apartment, "our cafe", called Cafe A). We are in shock that this is true, that we are really all of a sudden living this way.

MUCH, MUCH more to come, mes amis!!!

A Bientôt Stuey!

A bientôt means "see you soon"...no au revoirs here, pal! I will be writing, emailing and Skyping you soon. I have a lemon starburst candy in my pocket that I'm saving for you. It's going to be nice and soft by the time it gets to you.
