5 o'clock

When is daddy coming home? I thought I heard his truck. I stare out this window, looking, waiting, calling for him, minute after excruciating minute, until... finally!

some of my favorite things...

I would like to take a few minutes to show you some of my favorite toys. These things are the lifeblood of my wee existence. They're always there, in the corner, waiting for me to play with them. I do prefer playing with humans, but these here are a pretty good time too. This is my car dashboard. See how I turn the key to start the ignition. Then I can shift gears, honk my horn, and play my radio. When I hear that song on the radio (its always Jimmy Crack Corn) I wiggle my bum and kick my right leg.
This is my John Deere. Grandpoop gave me this. I think he expects me to help out in the yard, but come on, I'm a toddler!
This, as you know, is my toddle truck. Usually its for pushing and pulling but now its for sitting inside while someone wheels you around the house real fast so your hair blows with the breeze.

And this, is Mrs. Goose. Uncle Mike named it Hitler, but to me she'll always be Mrs. Goose. She has an english accent and when I hear her call I immediately go over and give her a big kiss on the beak. We have something special, Mrs. Goose and I.

can you believe this?

This is my cousin! My auntie Cari's belly's insides with a creature growing. Isn't it totally bananas in there? That was once me, all squished up and sleepy. It was once you too. The doctor who took this picture had to be real crafty not to show the parents the between the legs shot, cuz they want to be surprised on the birth day. Can you see the little baby sucking his skeleton thumb? Are you understanding the miracle of life and the wonders of science?

BUBBLES!!!

Oh my Gosh, do you know about these things?!! They're pieces of round water that float around and you can chase them and right when you grab at them they disappear. It makes me freak right out! Man, I thought my life was pretty darn good and then Mamam brings these babies home........this is The Dream.

tooths

These are my teeth. They hurt. Something's trying to poke through I think. It better be a tooth otherwise I am going insane. Last night they put me to bed at 6:30 and I didn't go to sleep until almost midnight. First I cried and cried, right in the middle of everyone's "fabulous dinner party" with a bunch of people on the big deck. Then when I finally got in bed with mom and dad I thought it was morning and time to play and start saying Hi to everything. Mama said she was going to run screaming through the woods in her pajamas. You should see her today... she's kind of a wreck. But she gave me this frozen foot to suck on so I'm going to try to be real quiet tonight so she can sleep. We'll see.......

visitor P

Paz arrived for her visit and she has a little bump in her belly where a teeny little baby is sleeping. You can't really notice but my mom told me what's in there. We took her to see the new house and my dad and grandpa have torn it all to pieces and there were guys mowing the lawn and digging up weeds and stuff. Then we went into the downtown of Poulsbo where they have really good coffee and apple cider and an amazing bakery with the tastiest treats and the giganticest donuts you've ever seen. Paz snuck me some of that sweet sweet sugar and I'll never forget her for this.

Baby C and Baby G

Miss You Corner

Where are you, my sweet Tia Camille? You were so good to me. You understood me like no other. When I was a wee baby and I would cry and cry when my parents were away, you would dance with me and soothe me and I loved you. You are the color of my mother and I love you still.

The Return of Grandpoop

He's home! Grandpa's home! I haven't seen him for so long cuz he's been building in Lake Tahoe where its always snowing. He got me this real cool red Radio Flyer wagon and they can pull me all around the yard so I can oversee everything. I wowed Grandpa with my walking and talking and imitating how a doggie goes and my sweeping and mopping and whistling and harmonica playing. And that was just for the first day. Today I'm going to pull out my dancing and my piano playing and my singing into the mic and my stair climbing.....

Happy Easter Everyone

For Easter Sunday we went to the Strawberry Hill skate bowl. There was no one there because all the skaters that live here were probably in church. Kids had written stuff all over the bowl (and that's called "graffiti"). I didn't know all the words, like indica or sativa buds, but I liked all the color drawings. Dad kept saying, well maybe I should find a skateboard and come here, but mama says that all our hopes will be dashed if he breaks his arm and can't work on the house. Plus the park rules say you have to wear a helmet and that's lame.

Owweeee!

I had my first visit with my new Bainbridge pediatrician. She's a lady and she's quiet and nice. Dr. Nakashima in LA was very loud and funny. Too loud and funny says my Dad. He calls him Dr. Nak Nak joke. Anyway, the new doc said I was very well behaved and mellow and she also said I was long and lean. It was all fun and games until the nurse came in and stuck me a bunch with a needle. NOT COOL. But hopefully now I won't get the flu or the mumps. Mumps Mumps Mumps! Mumps!

Nordic BBQ

We had our first BBQ at the new house. The insides are still all messed up. Dad pulled up all the gross linoleum tiles from the upstairs bedrooms and discovered really nice wood floors underneath. This is a good thing that everyone is real happy about. There is still a LOT to do. We ate out on the deck and saw the man and wife bald eagles again. They were circling above me and Mama held onto my hand real tight just in case. Then the sea air came at us and it got pretty cold and we drove back to the warm Bainbridge house.

more pals for me

This is my brand new second-cousin Skylar!!! She was born just a few days ago from my mom's cousin Stephanie's belly. Look how little she is! I have love in my heart for her already. And this is Stephanie holding me when I was a lot younger. Look how little I was!

movie time

This is the theater where my parents went to the movies last night. (They left me.) Its just a few minutes away from here by the water and there is a "sanatarium" across the street. Some call it a Cracker Factory which to me sounds like the best place in the whole world to live because I LOVE crackers and in fact "gacker" is my new favorite word for everything I love. It was dark in the movie so they couldn't tell who loved crackers and who was just regular but at the cafe next door you can see a woman with pink hair and and old guy that shouts, "is the potato soup hot?!!" Those are definite gacker lovers.....like me!

new routine

So, our new routine, now that The Plan is underway, is that I spend all day with Mama while Dad works on the house in Poulsbo. Today we went swimming at the Aquatic Center and mom held me and I floated along and kicked my feet like real swimmers do. After that, I slept for 3 hours and mom was SO happy to see me when I woke up that she took me to the park too. She had been working on the budget for The Plan. When we got back from the park and the town & country store, Dad was home making a fryer chicken and biscuits. I took a tubby with mom and then dad gave me dinner and a bedtime stroll in the garden. Now I go to sleep and we do it all again tomorrow.

demolition man

Dad started the tearing apart of our new house. He ripped up all the carpet from everywhere and cut up his hands until their was bleeding all over. (Mama had begged him to take gloves but he said that this was man's work that she doesn't know anything about.) And then he started pulling apart all the wood boards around the walls. It looks like real crap in there but dad says it feels good to do this kind of work when its for your own sake. So then he loads up all the crap and drives it to the dump. On his first load, a big roll of carpet flew off the truck on the freeway. Don't tell Ponch from the Chips!!!

Sheeeeee's Home!

Mamam finally returned. It took me less than two minutes to remember her. She was pretty impressed with all my walking and talking. And I became quite the hugger while she was away. I like my hugs long and tight and followed by a kiss. Welcome home to Mamam! Sure is cool to have one more person to follow around.

Daylight Savings

Driving home from town at almost 6 and its still super sunny. I like this new light time. Went to the park where I slid down the slide with no protective hands on me...pure free fall. Went to the store for soy milk and cookies. Went to the Vietnamese place for noodles and soy stuff. Took the back road home to miss all the ferry traffic. These are the days of our life...

hello friend

Miss You CornerPaz is in Miss You Corner today because she is booking a flight to come visit us up here. Excellent. Dad will be busy tearing up carpet and driving to the dump and mama and I can cruise Poulsbo with Aunt Pazzy. Have I mentioned the town of Poulsbo is Scandanavian? Kinda weird.

ITS CLOSING TIME!!!

We closed! Whatever that means. I know what it means to close the door so I guess when you close the door at a new house its yours. We got the keys and played around inside where its a little ugly but the P's say that's why we got it. They walked around and talked about getting rid of staircases and walls and windows and doors. Mamam comes home from Mexico soon and then Grandpoop will come and then he and Dad will start fixin' up. This is a BIG DEAL, folks.

steppin' out

Yesterday we took the ferry to Seattle, the Big City. It was warm and pretty. We went to Value Village where I got some cool clothes and a Hummer Hotwheels and Dad got the perfect tweed coat he's been searching forever for. (Today though he considered that the coat may be cursed since there was some bad luck like missing a ferry, computer crashing, cell phone lost and general frustration moods ever since the coat came into our lives...if our luck doesn't change by dinnertime tomorrow we will burn it in the fire pit outside.) But we had a fine time yesterday...

(and don't forget to spring forward tonight-- which over here means we will wake when its pitch black instead of just dawn.)
