Au Revoir Portland

Good-bye to my teacher Miss Wager and to my classroom where I learned so much this year and to all my school friends and to all the after school soccer games that I played on that muddy lawn. I don't know if I'll be back to you but I will write and send reports from all the geography I see in Europe so you can learn about the world too. This is going to be the most adventurous adventure of my life so far so tighten your safety belts folks....!!!

We are a tennis family

Indian Wells

While in the desert with the grandparents we all got to go to see professional tennis, the BNP Paribas tournament, the Big Time of tennis.

There are 12 stadiums surrounded by the beautiful purple mountains majesty of the California desert and you can just bop around all day long going to see any tennis match you want.

This is Federer the Great practicing. You can get super close to watch all the most famous players warm up. It's totally spectacular!

A bare-chested Baghdatis.

Look how close we got to Djokovic! Does this mean anything to anyone else but us?

We got to see the Djoker lose in a doubles match later (and he doesn't lose much!) The whole experience was very sports-inspirational to me. I felt lucky to be there.

One Last Desert

Mom and I took a trip to Palm Springs to meet up with Aunt Cari and Ondine at Nana and Papa's house. Beautiful weather in wintertime, as always. Running around in shorts when it's close to freezing back home. Ondine is my little right hand man girl. She read to me and I read to her. Nana took us to the swimming pool with the water slide and the giant water guns and we frolicked until our bodies were soggy prunes. Not much beats this.

One Last L.A.

We are making the last trips, far and local, to see and hug and say goodbye to all our closest pals and family, before we go away from the country, even though we aren't going for so very long we want to get a good hang in with everyone so that we hit the next continent fully gassed up with American love and friendship.

Skater Daze

Went roller skating with mom, dad and Stuey.

Dad tried to give me all his roller pointers. I started off just hugging the wall because it had been years since I tried this roller-skate business and I have a very much higher gravity center now and it was a bit hard at first.

But I got going. Trying to keep up with Stu.

Out there in the wild world of the rink's center.

And then back to some wall hugging.

Then right back out there, which is what you've just got to do.

I could barely use my legs to walk the next day or sit on my butt because of the soreness in my leg and bum muscles, but it was worth it. I want to roller skate much much more in the days to come.

The Great White Twister Birthday Party

Going back a month and a half to show you my big birthday party:

7 years old...finally! Weird being the youngest in my class when I look like the oldest. But the birthday came and we celebrated with quite a house party.

All my pals came, except Stuart who had to stay home on account of barfing, poor Stuey! He missed a whopper.

The giant floating remote control shark that actually swims through the air from my Uncle Nick was a gigantic hit. Everyone had a turn sending the shark nose into people's heads.

And, let's see, I got more BayBlades, Ninjagos, HeroFactories, StarWArs legos and Diary of a Wimpy Kids. Thanks everyone, they were all just what I wanted!
